At Shamrock Animal Hospital, we want every visit to feel like you’re stopping by to see friends who genuinely care about you and your pet. Whether it’s a routine check-up, a sick visit, or something more urgent, our friendly front desk team is here to greet you with a smile and make sure you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the moment you arrive.
Whether you are coming to Shamrock Animal Hospital for a routine visit, a sick pet visit or an emergency, our reception team takes immense pride in getting to know you, your pets and anything that is necessary to ensure that, from the very beginning, your visit to our hospital starts on a very high note.
First-time visitors to the hospital will immediately begin to understand that our mission is to provide personalized, compassionate and friendly care to your pet.
We are very proud of our staff and know that, from the first smile when you walk into our lobby, you will feel confident that you are getting the very best care possible.
Tracking your pet’s weight helps the veterinarian assess their overall health, adjust medication doses accurately, and spot early signs of problems like obesity or illness. It’s a simple step that plays a big role in keeping your dog or cat healthy.
Since animals age faster than humans, the American Veterinary Medical Association recommends that pets visit their veterinarians twice annually to ensure optimal health. Performing a physical, hands-on exam of your pet, checking their heart, noticing any weight change or changes in appearance, performing annual diagnostic bloodwork along with your annual heartworm screening, we have the ability to identify potential health risks early and establish a treatment plan that allows for optimal health for your pet.
A simple blood test gives us a clear picture of your pet’s health, helping us catch problems early and keep them feeling their best.
Regular heartworm screenings help keep your pet safe by catching infections early—before they can cause lasting harm.
Preventing heartworms is much easier—and safer—than treating them. A simple monthly preventive keeps your pet protected from a serious, potentially life-threatening disease.
“Why do you take my pet out of the exam room?”
There are a number of reasons for this. We have outlined a few of them below.
To help bring you a level of mental comfort, we are happy to give you a tour and explanation of everything that happens in the treatment room. Just ask any member of the Shamrock team!
After your visit, we’ll make sure you know exactly how to care for your pet at home and are always here if you have questions. There may also be some things your vet will ask of you after you and your pet leave Shamrock. It is important to keep up with medicines and vaccines like flea and tick prevention, rabies vaccines and heartworm prevention.
Shamrock Animal Hospital offers a full-service pharmacy to meet your pet’s medication needs.
If we don’t carry a specific medication, we’ll direct you to our online pharmacy for quick delivery. We may also ask you to monitor your pet’s behavior or comfort at certain times to help assess their quality of life during treatment.
