For many years, clients (and their pets) have been coming to Shamrock Animal Hospital knowing they’ll be treated like family. Our staff is a big part of that.
I am so proud of Shamrock Animal Hospital and all we have been able to accomplish over the last decade and I often say that veterinary medicine is a team sport! I’m not sure you will find a team that is more focused on our mission to DO GREAT WORK ~ HAVE FUN + GIVE BACK than the individuals who work here. And when you are part of a team, you celebrate every victory and milestone – no matter the size! The Shamrock Family has celebrated so many birthdays, engagements, weddings, babies, holidays, and laughter; I am sure I’m not remembering them all here. We even had a member of the Shamrock Family successfully receive a heart transplant!
Success can be measured in so many different ways. Here at Shamrock, I appreciate our success by the smiles on the faces of so many of my team members and the endless flow of recognition from our clients. These folks are my rock!

Growing up in Ocala, FL, Dr. Raquel Fagan always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian and a Florida Gator! Dr. Fagan graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine with the idea that every patient is unique and deserves individualized care and attention. She took over the practice on October 14, 2016.
We are privileged to have one of the most outstanding teams of animal care professionals! We encourage you to read their bios and visit the office to get to know them – they truly are spectacular!
Dr. Kyle Fox – son of our Owner and Medical Director, Dr. Raquel Fagan – graduated Magna Cum Laude as the Salutatorian of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2025. He was also honored with the American College of Veterinary Medicine Clinical Excellence Award.
Dr. Fox joined the Shamrock Animal Hospital team in June 2025, bringing a lifelong love of veterinary medicine – shaped by years spent in-clinic with his mother.
Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, cheering on the Florida Gators, and spending time with his dog, Korra.

Founded by Greg and Donna Shamrock, Shamrock Animal Hospital has proudly served Lake County since 1988 with a deep love for animals and a commitment to exceptional care. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and personal touches—from warm greetings to extra love during a simple nail trim—Shamrock quickly became a trusted part of the community. In 2016, after nearly three decades, the Shamrocks passed the torch to Dr. Raquel Fagan, a lifelong Floridian and University of Florida graduate. With years of veterinary experience across Central Florida, Dr. Fagan brought her passion for animals and personalized care to Shamrock. Since taking the “lead” on October 14, 2016, she has continued the legacy of compassion, connection, and community.
Donna and Greg Shamrock owned the hospital from 1988-2016.
Dr. Fagan and Jeff have owned the hospital since 2016, and continue the legacy of the Shamrocks.

Dr. Fagan has served as the medical director for Patriot Service Dogs since 2019. The organization provides trained service dogs – at no charge – to veterans in need.
