Mount Dora, FL:  Shamrock Animal Hospital is proud to announce that it has been named the Central Florida Animal Hospital of the Year by IDEXX Laboratories, Inc.  The hospital was recognized for its overall commitment to the prevention of disease and promotion of wellness of family pets throughout the central Florida region.

12/12/2017  Shamrock Releases Lifetime Wellness Plans – Keeps the Cost of Routine Animal Wellness Affordable and Predictable

(December 12, 2017/Mount Dora, FL) – Maintaining their focus on delivering high-quality pet care, Dr. Raquel M. Fagan, DVM and Shamrock Animal Health announced today that, beginning December 18, 2017, clients will have the opportunity to enroll their dogs and cats in Shamrock Lifetime Wellness Plans.  Starting at $39 per month, the plans will allow pet owners to take full advantage of the diagnostics and services available during routine office visits.

Veterinarians and industry associations, such as the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) have been recommending a standard of care for dogs and cats that includes twice-annual wellness exams, annual bloodwork/screening, necessary vaccines and year-round heartworm prevention – at a minimum.  Depending upon the age of the pet, the industry also suggests that doctors perform dental cleanings and x-rays as they deem necessary to ensure the health of a pet’s internal organs including the heart, liver and kidneys.

“About six months ago, I suggested to my team that our clients were not getting the most out of their regular wellness visits to Shamrock Animal Hospital,” said Dr. Fagan.  “Even though they understand the importance of each of the recommended steps of the regular wellness visit, many clients find themselves choosing to skip steps such as blood work or a dental cleaning.  I challenged all of us to come up with a better way to deliver pet care.”

The annual cost of care for a senior pet requiring x-rays and dental cleaning can easily surpass the $1,000 mark.  When choosing a Lifetime Wellness Plan (after paying an initial membership fee of $60), owners can take advantage of plans that range from $39-69 per month.  There are also plans in the same monthly range for puppies and kittens.  Additional plan benefits include unlimited complimentary nail trims, a 15% discount on premium pet food offered at the hospital and a 25% discount on non-holiday boarding.

“When Dr. Fagan laid out the Lifetime Wellness Plan program to our team, I couldn’t have been more thrilled,” said Liz Lauterbock, a 28-year Shamrock team member and fixture in the hospital’s reception area.  “It’s going to give so many of our clients the opportunity to ensure the long-term health of their dogs and cats.”

Founded by Dr. Raquel Fagan in 2016, Shamrock Animal Health was founded to continue the tradition of outstanding animal healthcare provided by Shamrock Veterinarians in Lake County, Florida since 1988.  With the simple mantra of Do Great Work, Have Fun and Give Back, Shamrock is quickly becoming a household name in central Florida representing the power that pet ownership has in enhancing the everyday lives of the residents of their community.

10/14/2017  Shamrock Animal Hospital (Mount Dora) Launches New Animal Health Website (www.shamrockvets.com)

(Mount Dora, FL) – Shamrock Animal Hospital announced today that it has launched a brand new website focused not only on animal health, but also on the lifestyle that comes along with pet ownership.  Called Shamrock LivingRaquel Fagan, DVM and her team of professionals at Shamrock Animal Hospital are committed to helping their clients and the community recognize the positive influence that pets can have on people’s lives.

At the core of Shamrock Living are the traditional services that a veterinarian provides to pet owners such as annual vaccinations and basic heartworm checks.  Shamrock’s team of highly trained technicians and outstanding customer relations staff take pride in truly educating clients on the benefits of focusing on the overall health of their pets and the steps that can be taken from the time they are puppies or kittens that will help them live a healthy and active life.

“My grandmother loved the expression. ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away’,” said Dr. Fagan.  “At Shamrock Animal Hospital however, I want people to feel comfortable having us in their lives.  By focusing on wellness instead of just illness or basic prevention, we believe that pets and their owners get the most out of their lives together.”

The site features information on the steps that pet owners can take when their pets are healthy to ensure continued health and also to create a baseline for care in times of stress or illness.  Shamrock Animal Hospital provides individualized care to every pet with a specific focus on life-stage (Puppies & Kittens, Adult Pets and Senior Pets) and will make recommendations based on Dr. Fagan’s nearly 25 years of animal health experience in Central Florida.

While in the early stages of development, the site includes an interactive area (Ask Dr. Fagan) where visitors can seek guidance on issues specific to their individual situation.  As it matures, it is intended to function as an additional reference tool for pet owners to receive guidance and suggestions on how and when to get their veterinarian involved in the health and care of their pet.

“While it would be nearly impossible to give specific and timely healthcare advice through our website, we are excited to hear from our site’s visitors regarding the health of their pet,” commented Dr. Fagan.  “It’s everyone’s chance to ask THAT QUESTION they have always wanted to ask their vet.”
